Always Be Closing Evolved[]

Should this be classified as an "event"? Lightning Laxus (talk) 18:17, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

I honestly don't think so, maybe we should take it off of the navigation template. TheKittyGuy16 (talk) 18:47, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
If Battle Armor is considered an event (even minor), Always Be Closing Evolved should be too (Unless Respawn specifically categorized either as one). There's the classification of Minor and Major events anyways.

That was my reasoning I used when I put ABC Evolved on here. However, ABC Evolved was never advertised as an event while Battle Armor was. The reason why I'm bringing this up again is because I realized there are other LTMs that came outside events in the past, like when old versions of KC came back as LTMs during S4, or when KC came back during S7. Are those also "events"? And where do we draw the line? Lightning Laxus (talk) 14:11, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
If what counts as an event is the issue, then my view on it is that whatever Respawn called an event be one and the rest classified as either Limited Time Modes or as Store Sales. IIRC, this would mean that only Battle Armor (since Respawn specifically called it one) and A Wee Experiment would be left as Minor events though.

September Soiree is unquestionably an event. Valentine's Day was called an "event" in a tweet. I think it's ok if we keep sales on this page, especially since they come with Event-limited cosmetics. Really it's just ABC Evolved that I'm not sure about. Lightning Laxus (talk) 15:05, 11 February 2021 (UTC)

Event itemlinks[]

Should we make a redirect page called (e.g. File:Legendary Hunt.svg) that will redirect to the icon? It looks kinda annoying to put (ItemLink image=Icon.svg) to be honest. I did the same thing for Apex Packs so that {{ItemLink|Apex Pack}} appears as Apex Pack Apex Pack, since an ItemLink will use the name of the SVG as the itemlink name. And yes, I know the Apex Pack icon is a PNG, but I created a redirect page called File.Apex Pack.svg. TheKittyGuy16 (talk) 16:16, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Honestly I don't know why we don't just name the icons after the events. Lightning Laxus (talk) 22:52, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
The <event name>.svg/png is for the badge used to represent the event itself. The <event name> Icon.svg/png is for the icon used to represent items from that event on the armory. It also matches with the loadout icons not from events (like the Content pack icons, prime gaming drops).
A compromise would be to use <event name> Badge for the event badge/icon then relocate the loadout icons to <event name>.svg. But there would be inconsistencies on the naming since the other loadout icons would still have "icon" on their name. It would also be a slight misrepresentation as there's a (admittedly small) difference between the loadout icon and the event icon.

Prize track descriptions[]

I'd like to do this, to be honest, but should we put the prize track descriptions as quotes at the top of the "Prize Track" section of an event page? I know that people can view the prize track description by clicking the file, but I think it would be easier to quote the description the prize track (e.g. {{Quote|Description}}) at the top of the section. Tbh, I don't think most people who look up events and their prize tracks care about flavor text. And, as you said, it's on the image. Lightning Laxus (talk) 16:55, 5 March 2021 (UTC)
