Gear are items that can be equipped by a player to grant them abilities and passive bonuses such as shields and increased inventory space. Much like Weapons, Gear cannot be held in the player's inventory, only equipped.
Legendary gear has the same base attributes as Epic gear, but grant the player additional bonuses.

  • On intense firefights, it may be faster to switch to another body shield of the same or lower level instead of using Shield Cell.svg Shield Cells or Shield Battery.svg Shield Batteries, as all shields keep their health when dropped and all naturally spawned body shields always start with full health.
  • Completing a Finisher refills all Shield health.

Evo Shield[edit | edit source]

A Level 1
Evo Shield

Type Gear
Time to use -
Description Absorbs 25 damage. Gains strength when wearer inflicts damage.

  • Requires 75 damage dealt while the shield is equipped to evolve into a Level 2 Evo Shield.
    • Damage to downed enemies and bullet penetration doesn't count towards the damage dealt needed to level up. This includes Gibraltar's Gun Shield.png Gun Shield.
  • Damage dealt carries over when the item is dropped.

  • Try to look for a used Evo Shield from other dead players so that you don’t have to deal as much damage for the max level.
  • Completing a Finisher refills all Shield health.

  • Evo Shield may not track damage dealt 100% accurately.

Description Absorbs 125 damage. Fully evolved.

  • Cannot be found in world drops.
  • Level carries over when the item is dropped.

  • Try to look for a used Evo Shield from other dead players.
  • While shield cells still heal only 1 bar (25 health) with the Evo Shield equipped, shield batteries can heal all 5 bars (125 health), making them even more valuable.
  • Although it may come to preference, sometimes a Legendary Body Shield may still be more valuable than a Level 5 Evo Shield due to its [FAST HEAL] passive.
    • Considering this, Lifeline is one of the best legends to use a Level 5 Evo Shield since she already has her Combat Medic.png Combat Medic passive, allowing her to have both 125 shields and 25% faster healing item use, while also allowing other teammates to pick up any Legendary Body Shields found.
  • Completing a Finisher refills all Shield health.

Helmet[edit | edit source]

The Helmet is gear that decreases the amount of damage a player receives from a headshot; the rarer the helmet, the greater the damage reduction. Unlike shields, helmets never break and never have to be restored with consumables.

[FAST CHARGE]: Reduces Tactical & Ultimate recharge time.

  • Reduces Tactical & Ultimate recharge time by 25%.

  • It is not very necessary using it while playing Octane (unless all other teammates have one already) since his stim's cooldown is only reduced by half a second and his jump pad already charges quite quickly.
  • Try to find it while playing (or give it to) support and defensive characters, such as Lifeline or Gibraltar, so they can set out traps and airstrikes more often, and send care packages at a faster rate.

Knockdown Shield[edit | edit source]

The Knockdown Shield is gear that grants a player the ability to shield themselves when downed. Once down, the player can hold the fire button to activate a shield that absorbs damage until depleted. Player movement speed while the Knockdown Shield is active is reduced to 0.55. The shield covers a large area in front of the player's reticle, and its color matches the color of its rarity (e.g., a Rare shield will glow blue).

Knockdown shields are replenished when the downed player is revived.

[RESURRECTION]: Can self-resurrect once. Ability consumed upon use.

  • The perk of this knockdown shield is the only way for a player to revive without the assistance of a squad member. However, it takes twice as long.
  • If a member of a squad has a Legendary knockdown shield equipped, the squad may stay active in the match until that player is killed (even if all squad members are downed, or killed).
  • The shield reverts to an Epic Knockdown shield when [RESURRECTION] is consumed.

  • Stay in cover and have your back against a wall while self-reviving since the hitbox moves behind the player slightly.

Backpack[edit | edit source]

The backpack is an item that expands the number of other items you can carry and comes in four rarities.

A Level 1
Backpack

  • Make it a priority to acquire a backpack during the first round to give you additional room to carry more ammunition, consumables or rare weapon attachments as, without a backpack, a player only has ten slots for picking up items which would fill up pretty quickly.

[GUARDIAN ANGEL]: Provides Health and Shields after a revive.

  • Restores 50 shields and 70 health.
  • The UI for the Gold Backpack has a Gold Bar to better convey to the player when they are using or being revived with the perk.

  • Using this with a Lifeline will result in faster revive times, a shield cover and replenished health and shields.
  • If you have the Knockdown Shield and manage to successfully self-resurrect yourself while having this backpack, you'll trigger Guardian Angel's healing effect on yourself, giving you 50 shields and 70 health.

  • Backpack UI when picking up items displays 14 total slots instead of 16.
